Providing Local Food to Our Community
Everyone should be able to access fresh food, regardless of their circumstances. Our food access programming spans our community of Charlottesville and beyond. We work to get fresh, nutritious, locally grown food to the communities that need it.
Fresh Farmacy
Through Fresh Farmacy, low-resource households receive bi-weekly shares of locally sourced items and materials to empower participants in the kitchen. In 2023 we distributed 8000 shares of fresh produce to program participants.
Farm Stands
We provide no-cost fresh food to people living in rural communities in five counties.

Connecting Farmers and Consumers through
the Eastern Food Hub Collective (EFC)
Local Food Hub is a founding member of the Eastern Food Hub Collaborative and currently serves as the backbone organization.
The EFC is a network of food hubs located on the east coast, working together to expand opportunities for farmers and equitable access to good food for all. We believe that when food hubs work together to increase grower relationships and market access, the result is a more robust, resilient regional food system. This food system places trusted farms at its center and provides opportunities for all consumers to make healthy, delicious choices.
