Emergency Food Network
The Emergency Food Network is a volunteer organization that provides a three-day food supply to individuals and families exclusively in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area who find themselves in an emergency without food. In 2014, the Emergency Food Network partnered with Local Food Hub to bring fresh, locally sourced produce to their clients. The clients have especially loved fresh tomatoes, squash, potatoes, and onions. To volunteer or donate food, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 434-979-9180.
The Haven is a dynamic, multi-purpose community space that works to reduce homelessness by initiating creative solutions and coordinating regional resources and services. Volunteer opportunities include preparing locally sourced breakfasts or helping with meal service, tending and harvesting in their two-acre community garden, as well as welcome desk duties and guiding guests’ access to the Haven’s many resources. Visit their website for more information, or contact them at email@example.com.
