In June 2019, Local Food Hub formed an exciting new partnership with 4P Foods, a direct-to-consumer food hub, to merge our distribution operations. We married Local Food Hub’s strengths in farmer relationships and product knowledge with 4P Foods’ strength in logistics, market development, and sales, to create an even better system for getting food from small family farms to more members of our community.
Local Food Hub continues to exist as a nonprofit organization to provide the same great community services and programming it always has, including helping farmers with training and certifications, working with schools, and expanding its Fresh Farmacy and other food access programs.
Local Food Hub’s partner farms continue their same relationship, now with 4P Foods, and current or future customers can expect the same quality products from our partner farms, the same transparency, customer service and team, and the same commitment to supporting our region’s agricultural heritage.
4P Foods works with retail stores, restaurants, buying clubs, schools, universities, and other food businesses, including hospitals and senior centers. We want to make sure that all consumers have access to fresh, local food where and when they want it. All of our food is grown by small family farms in Virginia, with whom we have strong relationships. Local Food Hub the nonprofit organization continues to provide resources to farmers to ensure that they can supply the highest quality, best tasting, and safest food possible. Our products are fully traceable from farm to plate, so you always know who grew your food. This allows the community to eat better, our partner farmers to have a reliable market for their food, and a relationship to develop from farm to table. Learn more about our partner farms here.
