In response to COVID19, Local Food Hub is collaborating with its partner farms and producers to get the community the healthy, local options they love.
Local producers are in a moment of extreme uncertainty and vulnerability, as many of the buyers they rely on, such as universities, K12 schools, and restaurants, have shut their doors or are trimming their operations. Farms operate on razor-thin financial margins, and this social and economic crisis is going to impact them hard.
To address these issues, Local Food Hub is offering a weekly drive-through micro-market on Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00pm and Fridays, 3:00-5:30pm, in the Kmart parking lot off Hydraulic.
All purchases will be ordered and paid for in advance via the link below. Once you follow the link, the first step is to set up an account as a customer (note that there is a fee of $5 to use the platform for 3 months). Then you can go into the store and place one order for everything you need.
Ordering for the Wednesday market is open Friday evening through Monday at 5pm.
Ordering for the Friday market is open Monday at 7pm through Thursday at 10am.
Our producers will have your products packaged and ready for pickup once you arrive. All you need to do is let them know your name and they will hand you your product – no need to even get out of your car!
A few notes:
ORDER DEADLINE FOR FRIDAY IS THURSDAY, 10AM, or until slots fill.
ORDER DEADLINE FOR WEDNESDAY IS MONDAY, 10PM, or until slots fill.
All sales final. As of 4/3, we will not be offering refunds if you order and are unable to show up. We ask that you think through your schedule in advance, and only order if you are confident that you (or a substitute) will be able to pick up. We appreciate your understanding.
We ask that you respect your original sign-up slot. We are trying to minimize wait times, and maximize social distancing. You select a timeslot by “purchasing” one when you check out.
Farmers will receive 100% of the value of the product – the fee for creating an account goes to Local Food Hub, to partially cover the costs of hosting the market.
We have a wide variety of products. We encourage you to browse all items before making a purchase – although all vendors present have unique offerings, there may be some overlap in the vegetable realm.
The name that you use for your account is the name that farmers will label your products with.
We are still new to this, and we appreciate your understanding as we work through kinks. Please let us know if you are having issues – email@example.com.
