Jim Marzluff and Claudia Seixas, husband and wife duo, established Sweet Greens Farm in 2016. They now serve the Charlottesville and Richmond areas with both a floral and produce CSA. Jim and Claudia met while growing produce in college. Since then they’ve apprenticed on organic farms in California and Oregon and receiving certificates in ecological horticulture from the UC Santa Cruz Farm & Garden. They began their own operation at the Dirtworks incubator farm in Charleston, South Carolina where Jim grew up. In April 2016 they moved to Scottsville, Virginia and have built a diversified organic vegetable and cut-flower farm using ecological practices. Sweet Greens Farm grows unique and heirloom cut flowers, produce and has floral design services. They take pride in using chemical free practices on the five acres of land that they cultivate. They power their biodiversity with cover crops, crop rotation, and compost, while using tools like their battery powered antique tractor to cultivate. Sweet Greens sells at several local markets including our LFH Charlottesville market and we look forward to working with them more in the future.
