First landing in Charlottesville via Seattle in 1993, Joseph and William came to town with a coffee cart and a dream. Twenty-six years later, the brothers are proud to serve only organic coffee and own and operate Brothers Coffee, their CCOF certified organic roastery in Nelson County, Virginia.

Beginning as Higher Grounds on The Corner at the University of Virginia, the brothers grew that original cart into multiple retail locations within the UVA Medical Center.  In 2007, the brothers decided to source and small-batch roast organic coffee as a supplier to Higher Grounds as well as to offer wholesale coffee to like-minded businesses and restaurants in the region.

Since the beginning, their mission has always been: quality, community, and sustainability. Trager Brothers Coffee is committed to bringing you the highest quality, freshest, environmentally sound coffee on the market. They exclusively source beans from farms that are committed to environmental sustainability and fair wages for farmers and their families.

Now, Trager Brothers Coffee has brought to the market certified organic Ready to Drink cold chain cold brew.  Their cold brew never violates the cold chain.  It is never heated or pasteurized and lovingly brewed with no additives or preservatives, never reaching a temperature above 40 degrees from brewing to transport onto the customer shelf.

Made with the same carefully sourced artisanal roasted beans, and at just 5 calories per 12oz serving, this amazing product is a low calorie superfood while delivering everything that is great about coffee; flavor, focus, and energy.

They infuse it with just the right amount of nitro to give it the right pop and creamy mouthfeel.  And they get it to you in a super cool recyclable sleek can.  Shake it well, open carefully, dispense into a glass, and watch the bubbly magic. Local Food Hub is excited to share this Virginia produced item with our community of customers.
